Data Alchemy: Transforming Insights into Impact - An Analytics Portfolio
As the lead designer for the product ‘Order Intelligence Suite’, I implemented a comprehensive analytics strategy focused on understanding customer usage patterns, identifying top pages, features, and leveraging screen recordings and heatmaps to gain valuable insights. By employing these analytical tools, we were able to make informed decisions that significantly improved the user experience and overall product performance.
My Analytic Strategy
Conducting a comprehensive Pendo analysis for customer usage patterns
Strategy
I delved into user journeys and behavior flows, uncovering key touchpoints and pain points in their overall experience. The utilization of top pages and features analytics proved instrumental in pinpointing the most popular and frequently accessed sections of the product. This data became a cornerstone for strategic decision-making, facilitating the prioritization of development efforts and the effective allocation of resources.
How We Ultize it?

Hotjar Tool for Screen Recordings
Strategy
Screen recordings played a pivotal role in gaining a qualitative understanding of user interactions. I could observe firsthand how users navigate through the product, pinpointing areas of confusion or frustration. This qualitative data complemented quantitative analytics, providing a holistic view of user behavior. It helped me make user-centric design decisions, leading to a more intuitive and user-friendly interface.
Leveraging the Hotjar tool for Heatmaps
Strategy
Our analytics approach was revolutionized by visualizing key areas of product engagement. By identifying hotspots, we gained profound insights into user behavior, allowing for strategic layout optimizations that significantly enhanced usability.
How We Utilized it?
-
Strategic Importance of Filter Configuration: The Filter Configuration feature held significant importance in our design but failed to meet expectations, mainly attributed to its inconspicuous placement behind a floating button.
-
Heatmap Analysis Insights: Analyzing Heatmap data provided valuable insights, revealing a lack of engagement with the discreetly positioned floating button for the Filter Configuration feature.
-
Identified Issue: The underwhelming clicks on this particular area were identified as a key issue affecting the feature's performance and user interaction.
-
Strategic Repositioning: In response to the Heatmap findings, we strategically repositioned the button, placing it prominently on the page to enhance visibility and accessibility.
-
Surge in Usage: The outcome of this adjustment was significant, with a remarkable surge in the usage of the Filter Configuration feature observed after its prominent repositioning.
-
Demonstration of Heatmap Power: This tangible improvement serves as a clear demonstration of the power of Heatmaps in guiding strategic design decisions, leading to enhanced user interaction and satisfaction.
-
Ultimate Impact: Ultimately, the successful repositioning of the Filter Configuration button showcases how data-driven insights from tools like Heatmaps can drive positive changes, optimizing the user experience.
NPS Score in Pendo
Strategy
Pendo facilitates the implementation of Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys to measure customer loyalty and satisfaction. I have Utilize the insights gained from NPS scores to identify areas for improvement and gauge the effectiveness of product changes over time. This is critical for collecting and analyzing associated feedback to assess overall customer sentiment.
An example of how the NPS score looks like 7/10 for a new redesigned page is attached
How we utilized it?
-
NPS Influence: Incorporating NPS scores into the assessment of our Dynamic Yard task module played a pivotal role in guiding the module's redesign.
-
Initial Average Feedback: Although initial feedback appeared average, a closer analysis uncovered a recurring issue: users struggled with dragging and dropping elements, particularly those extending beyond the visible screen.
-
Identified Concern: The common concern was identified as difficulties in manipulating elements, especially when they exceeded the visible screen area.
-
Responsive Redesign: Swiftly responding to this feedback, we reorganized the page layout to specifically address the challenge of scrolling, resulting in a more user-friendly experience.
-
Positive Impact: The redesigned task creation page experienced a notable surge in usage, indicating a significant improvement in user engagement.
-
Enhanced Efficiency: Beyond addressing user frustrations, the streamlined design also contributed to increased operational efficiency by reducing the time required to create tasks.
-
Feedback to Experience: This case exemplifies how taking action on NPS feedback directly translates to an improved user experience and heightened operational efficiency.
SUS questionnaire

I created and standardized a SUS template that was circulated across our different product offerings and designed in Google Forms. The Questions for one of our products are mentioned below.
1) I think that I would like to use the X product frequently.
2) I found the X product unnecessarily complex.
3) I thought the X product was easy to use.
4) I think that I would need the support of a technical person to be able to use the X product.
5) I found the various functions in the X product well integrated.
6) I thought there was too much inconsistency in the X product.
7) I would imagine that most people would learn to use the X product very quickly.
8) I found the X product very cumbersome to use.
9) I felt very confident using the X product.
10) I needed to learn a lot of things before I could get going with the X product.
